Thank you so much for all the kind words, but I really just do what seems natural. Having worked in pounds myself, I understand the arguement from both sides, but so many of these dogs need the time the ponds just don't have. Look at Scooby and Sam. Both were definate PTS cases, Sam has a loving family and Scooby has me (Poor him I know lol)
Anyway, thanks. I couldn't do it without the support of people like you.

Ha ha ha ha!!! thank u for the compliment Tanja, but it was nothing honestly We worked as a team this weekend, each of us doing what we could, and the four of us proved that when u really care about something, you'll do whatever u can, well done u, i was concerned for u alot over the weekend and i know Joan was too. It was freezing last weekend and yet at nearly 7 months pregnant u not only set up each day with Ian, but stayed there all day every day. My back and legs were killing, and Ian's who's only 17, felt the same, god knows how u must have felt hun??? I know the dogs would wish to be able to tell u how grateful they are.
The dogs are looking great, there's only a couple that are still slightly underweight, the rest of them are looking FAT !!!! So stop spoiling them Steve !!! One of major changes out of all the dogs that amazes me and pleases the most is the wonderful change all round with our beloved HARLIE !!! Man she looks fantastic and is so alert, the last couple of weeks since the dogs moved to the rescue, i have helped as much as i can, and harlie is one dog i never spent any time with cos of her condition and that i was wary of her. Following what steve told me to do with her on a walk about a week after the move, i took my first walk with Harlie, very successfully. She has perked up and filled out so much and loves her walks and her treats again,, though she always liked her treats !! Its so sad what has happened to her, but she is again a happy dog, enjoying the life she now has and is again, not only full of life, but loving too. Steve didnt have his camera that day, but after a walk while steve was putting King back, not only did she jump up on the bench with me, but she gave me a kiss ! She did it again when steve came back from putting king away, he says i'm a braver man than he is, ha ha, erm no, she's a pussy cat ! I'm so proud of you girl, u have the biggest spirit of them all, my thoughts are with you, xxx
Keep it up steve, its hard work, but we all know that saving these dogs lives is worth it. I'll be there as much as i can |

Ha ha! Thanks Deb! It's pretty scary when I hear someone else say I am nearly 7 months pregnant! But it was fine honestly! Bit tired this week but hey it's gotta be done! After speaking to Steve I reckon my jobs are gonna involve mainly paperwork before long! either that or I will just play in the runs with the dogs! Sounds more fun!!! I am just glad we had a good weekend and I know Ian enjoyed it 2! Well done you guys with Harlie!!! She really is a little fighter!xxx |

It was great to see you all at The Rescue Place today.
Even though its still early days, we can see the great potential in the place. Well done to you all, you never stopped while we were there, yet still found time to come and admire Zeus (who LOVED seeing you all).
You have an extra two pairs of hands in us - just shout if we can ever help in any way.
Well done to you all - its amazing what you all do.

The rescue place, well i have been helping out there as much as i can, so i've seen first hand the changes and learnt so much from steve and trustee no 2 lol, gregg! I served in the RAF for nearly 7 yrs and was part of the first gulf war, but I have never been so proud as i am to be part of this charity and respected myself so much.
I have seen so much and so many quick changes in the last few months with the dogs, all round, physically and mentally and emotionally. Dogs coming in with no social skills and within a couple of weeks are walking great on the lead next to another unsociable dog. Im not going to go on about everything they do, but they are so quick to assess these dogs it's unreal. It breaks all our hearts to hear of these poor souls horrid journeys, and for us who are there when we turn out the lights and leave them in the dark with their bones, wondering how they ended up in kennels, abused and abandoned, but i feel better for them knowing the love and care and attention they get during the day. Each and every day, without fail. And thats the important bit, each and every day, without fail.
Zeus's mum and dad, come any time and muck in, the more help and volunteers we have, the better for the dogs. And anyone else out there, we have 30 dogs in at the minute, steve and gregg have so many ideas to stimulate the dogs, socialise them and rehabilitate them its fantastic, so the more help we have there with the everyday things, the more time they can spend on implementing those ideas.
Thank u for allowing me to be part of this, i love all these dogs who come in, and theres not one i wouldn't take home. But again i didnt win the lottery, so keep praying for me guys !! Oh and btw, this is how this place runs. Elaine steve's wife was out today when a stray dog ran out in front of the car, it wouldnt move and when she got out to move it out of harms way it jumped into her car. She tried everything, her and steve, the police wer no help or caring, and she had a choice of letting it stray again, or taking it in! So at about 11.30 this morning, little Daisy was taken in by The Rescue Place. Daisy is her adoptive name! They have hearts of gold, but what the hell is wrong with this world???
Right, im climbing off my soap box and going to take becks out for her last walk then go to bed! |

Yes Tanja, i know!! Thanks girl, it's bloody fantastic, but at the same time that lazy bum sat at the internet all day while i was out grafting!! Kept interrupting me to show me, while i was nipping back into the office changing waters!! Then his usual chop chop go lets crack on eh!!! Bloody slave driver, wait till u and ian go up tomorrow, you'll see what i mean lol !! I'll be thinking of u !!
And hey, we got the toilet sorted today, after i was sent to get the chemical bog unplugged cos wimp couldnt do it and was too embarrassed to go ask the butch farmer shearing the sheeps bottoms to unscrew it cos we couldnt!! Then he had the audacity to take a paper in and christen it for half an hour !! Whilst i had to use our usual bathroom !! What happened to ladies first eh??? There has got to be somewhere in the volunteers trade union rules to stop this kind of exploitation???
Hate fakebook btw, but i'll go on and add if i can very well done btw, i wouldnt have a clue how to do that !! |
