Yes and we all know who that one eyed German Shepherd is don't we, your so right every frightened and abused dog deserves a chance, but they don't all get one, two Rotties lost their lives recently who I tried to help, one was very neglected and half starved the other was apparently unpredictable, I only wish they were given a chance of some happiness like Scooby and not die thinking all humans are sc**.

the rottie in question was unpredictable, in my belief the reason why dog become this way is through unpredictable people and lack of routine as dog are an animal of habit and structure also not haveing positive stimulation did not help him so shame on his previous owners for not fufiling his individual needs.

All dogs can be unpredictable at times but they should still be given a chance of rehabilitation. I have seen first hand what just a bit of time and patience can do. Not forgetting the unconditional love these dogs get whilst in the care of SHAK no matter what history they come with!! It is fantastic seeing the progress they make all the time.

I also agree 100 % with both points, the dogs derserve a chance, and that there is no such thing as a bad dog. Just bad owners. Reality is though that in pounds they just don't have the time.

Yes, Scooby is a perfect example, we're just lucky we have some where for him be. He can probably never be rehomed into a normal home environment, but he is so happy. I am  now working on a project to make sure we can offer such retirement homes to other such beautiful animals. Scooby has confirmed to me, and shown the world WHAT CAN BE ACHIEVED.

Anyway, onto tonights walk. We had company tonight, as Gregg and Jasmine joined us. Photo's say it all, and thankfully Gregg missed my head off!

Scooby is a  very lucky dog, he is a prime example of what can be achieved.  good rescue spaces are hard to find especially ones who will take on a dog with problems., and being able to follow his progress is great.

The key word in that last post is RESCUE. For me and all the wonderful people who have helped me make SHAK what it is today, that is what it is really all about.  Wink
