Miko went out with Harlie today, as we try and step up his socialisation. He was a bit barky at first, until he found a plastic pop bottle to carry. After that he was perfect, and I'm not sure, but it seemed as if he kept looking back and waiting for Harlie. |

Once again Scooby earned his keep today, as he and Miko had a trip into town. These two even sniffed each other and as usual nothing phased Scooby. Miko was great, and such an improvement from last Sunday, he only got excited when some bikes and a motorbike went past. He then found a pop bottle, and that was it, he was happy. So much so that when a bike passed him again, he turned the other way (probably to protect his plastic friend.) It was a really good exercise for both dogs, and both me and Gregg were proud of them both.
Think I have to say though, Miko made so much progress today. It's down to us to help him continue his rehab. |

I was whisked away this morning to see that chap Jonathon again!! I really don't care much for him! I wasn't alone though 'cos that big lad Duke was there too! Aunty Sharon put me back in my kennel with a satisfied smile on her face. She said something about a trouser trim! Ouch I've got a pain! |

Really proud of Miko today, in fact proud doesn't do him justice. Over the last month or so, me , Gregg and Scooby have been walking Miko up to a busy road where there is a lot of traffic, people and a huge Asda. First time he wasn't too good and barked and lunged at everything. However, if he had his favourite toy with him he wasn't phased, so that is how we have cracked it the last couple of weeks.
Today was a big day for him. Just me and him, and NO BALL. Elaine (my wife) was leaving the farm as I started the walk, so I got her to drive really slowly with the window down and talking to me and Miko as we walked. Miko barked twice or three times and then just sniffed and walked totally ignoring Elaine (He learns off me very quickly ha ha) Next up a teenager on a bike came straight for us. Miko again barked two or three times and then walked on. The key point in these two events is that at neither did he lunge and after the couple of barks he regained his composure by himself.
To cap the walk off, we then walked for about 100 yards with a man on the other side of the street. We were level with the man and Miko didn't even acknowledge he was there.
Well done Miko, I knew we could do it together. |
