Scooby's Story.....

Sunday 31st May 2009.

A manic day sees Scooby a badly abused German Shepherd arrive at SHAK. Scooby represents one of our biggest challenges yet, as he was found chained to a tree in his back garden after his owners had emigrated. Here’s the horror story, Scooby is blind in one eye after it is alleged he was stabbed in the eye with a screwdriver.

As you can imagine, Scooby is very insecure, and is showing signs of clear stress and fear aggression. However, under all of that, he did show me that he can be a nice dog, it’s just going to take a whole lot of time and hard work to help him trust people. The damage that has been done to this dog is truly sickening.

Several urgent phone calls and emails over Friday and Saturday lead to me bombing down to Walsall to offer this big guy a chance, and after a good start it turns out to be quite a day.

I was greeted by teeth and barking as I approached his kennel, but hot dog sausages soon put an end to that. After a few gentle strokes he allowed to handle his collar, and he was very pleased to see the lead. We had a wonderful 40 minutes walk and after more hot dogs and strokes, he was eager to jump into my jeep. That’s when things took a turn for the worst. As I tried to give him a little lift up, he turned on his blind side and promptly started chomping on my arm. I take full responsibility for this, as I shouldn’t have put him in this position. Scooby is obviously very defensive and feels vulnerable if he is physically handled. I think his lack of vision in his left eye and the fact that he has obviously been beaten accounts for so many of his issues.

What followed was a total nightmare, as Scooby decided he didn’t want to be near anyone. Even sedated he was very upset, and I think this poor guy has been through hell. He gets very distressed if you try and muzzle him, and unfortunately his immediate reaction is too lash out in self defence and not worry about the results, as long as people stay away.

Four long hours later, and having coaxed him into a cage,( A special thanks to John from Wrights K9– Academy for giving his time to help) we managed to lift the cage into the back of the jeep, and set off towards home and safety. Even with a 3 and a half hour drive, Scooby wouldn’t relax, and I just couldn’t help but feel so sorry for the way this boy has obviously been made to fear people.

This really is going to be a tough ride, but it is a battle we NEED to win. Scooby showed me on his walk that can live life as a normal dog, and that he is willing to trust people, we just have to get through his defences. Please say a prayer for him, so he can realise that not all humans want to hurt him, and then we can at least let him live out the rest of his life in peace.

In my prayers Scooby, come on boy you can do it.

Scooby

Scooby you are safe now with good kind people who are going to look after you and you don't have to live in fear anymore, you were fantastic on the walk round the field and you enjoyed the freedom of being out and about, one day you will have that freedom again, please let everyone at Shak help and be the beautiful well behaved Scooby we know is inside you. x
wrightk-9

be good big lad show your goofy side i no u have got one i can see it in your eyes,
trust them who love and want the best for you.

god bless big lad.
wyliecat88

It's amazing how a dog can get hold of you (no pun intended lol) but Scooby has obviously made some friends in his short time in Walsall. Thank you for all coming on here.

Just a quick update on how he is doing. After a 12 hour shift at work today, I could think of nothing better than going to see the big guy and attempt to take him out. Since he arrived on Sunday night he has had the run of a big stable, but we wanted him to feel at ease before thrusting the outside world onto him.

I'm really pleased to say that he came out no problem, after we made friends over a few marrow bone treats, and he promptly took me on a tour of the farm. The only time we stopped was to wee and to sniff, and although I deliberatly didn't touch him (I didn't want to distract him or catch him off guard) we enjoyed  the time out. He clearly thinks his new homeis great, so hopefully we can build on that little bit of trust, and seeing people approach his stable will mean good things. A nice hide chew was enough to encourage him back into the stable with no snarling, and enough to distract him so I could make my exit.

As I've already said, this is going to be a real hard slog. I'm taking one thing at a time, and in real basic steps. I hope he is learning to do the same.
ladykeli

i only saw scooby for a few minutes, he did a lot of barking but soon came round when the  treats came out. and i didnt even need the cheese  my secret weapon . like john i saw something in his eyes he wants to trust.
thank you so much for giving this lad a chance x
tanja

Wow scooby sounds like you have made one hell of an impression on people! I am sure I will meet you at some point over the weekend! Maybe once you have come round I can introduce you to Scrappy! My shepherd! Who like you is also quite fear aggressive and unfortunately it does make things much harder but I promise everyone at SHAK will do anything possible to help! x
shaz

Poor Scooby....we're all here to try and help you mate...give us a chance we won't give up on you easily.
wyliecat88

Another day, and another massive improvement in Scooby. No treats were needed to gain his attention, he was calm as soon as he saw the lead. I even got a little lick through the gate before he came out. Once out, he was gold as gold, ignoring the other dogs, and just content on sniffing and weeing!

We had a stroll around the field a couple of times, during which he came to me and nudged my hand a few times, and we even enjoyed a couple of strokes. Everything we are doing is on his terms, I'm not going to force him into feeling insecure, but for those who saw him on Sunday, I think you can see he looks a bit happier, and we are friends again x

hollysmom

Fantastic photos, Scooby and Stephen it's early days, but omg what a difference   Very Happy
joan a

Well Scooby ,you have come to the right place.Their is lots of love & kindness waiting for you.
Just need to learn to trust humans again & believe me all the Shak people are rooting for you. X

i love this big lad sssssoooooooooo much he has got a goofy side i can see it clearer now.

keep up the hard work.
wyliecat88

Thanks Dianne, and thanks John! Without you I don't think we would of ever got Scooby in my Jeep! And also to the guy (who's name I don't know) who locked himself out of his car in his desperate attempt to help Scooby!

Here's some more pictures from today:

I love the first one (him standing big and proud) and the last one, such a handsome boy, and John look at that crinkled ear.

ladykeli

great pictures,   Smile  its lovely to see him out and about.
hollysmom

I think my signature just about says it all Stephen, good luck Scooby.
wyliecat88

Another day and more improvement in the big lad. The people on the farm report that there has been no growling at all today, and that Scooby has even been bringing his bone to the stable door for them. When I go to walk him tonight, he gets so excited when he sees the lead that he gets his head stuck under the stable door!

As a reward for being a good boy, we have another first........ a walk off site away from the farm. Scooby was in sniffing heaven, and at one point got a little fright when I touched him, but just looked and then sniffed some more. That in itself is such an improvement, he would of snapped at the start of the week.

He appears to be learning to trust more and more each day, and I can see a bond growing between us.
wrightk-9

ha i love his coliflower ea he reminds me of a rugdbt player with coliflower eas and standing tall and tuff but a big softy reali this lad brings more tears to my eyes every time i see him hes like a flower that keeps growing and growing.

i still think you could smuggle him home steven he would love that lol.
wyliecat88

Ha ha mate. I would love too, its already been decided though that he does have a permanent retirement home on the farm.
K9 Search UK

Where is the tissue box?  Here I go blubbering again, Scooby you handsome boy, keep it coming big fella!
wyliecat88

At the end of another 12 hour shift, and I can't stop thinking about getting to the farm to walk Scooby. He is learnig so fast, and today is no different. As I approach his stable, he puts his nose under the door and licks my hand, he is so keen to come out for a walk, that I can even reach between his legs to get the lead. Once out, Neil is keen to join us, and although a bit wary at first, Scooby isn't phased by the fact he is there.

We go out for nearly an hour, on what is probably the biggest and best walk this big boy has ever had. He is sniffing everywhere, and even gives Neil a couple of sniffs. We reach the long grass at the end of a track that over looks the river estury, and can you believe he skips, yes skips!, through it to follow Neil to the edge. Seeing him sitting there, sniffing the air and watching the ducks, is an unbelievable sight on its own, but when he goes and Neil for a stroke, well, let me tell you........ it brought a lump to my throat. You have to remember it was Neil who helped carry him snarling and spitting in his cage on Sunday night, and this is the very first contact he has had with him on the other side of the bars.

Walking back, he was like a different dog again. Pulling ahead, and chasing scents. He didn't have a care in the world, and I'm sure he forgot we were behind him.

Even putting him in his stable, he was relaxed. Carrying his chew, he jumped straight in. He even dropped it right next to my hand as I bolted the door, and can you believe he just wagged his tale and picked it up again. On Sunday he would of had my hand in his mouth for being within 3 feet of a chew!
hollysmom

I know that you saw the real Scooby when we were walking him round the field, we were giving him treats and I was even stroking his head, he was walking between us quite happy to be out with us and sniffing the grass and hedges.  Your giving him the chance of life that so many dogs don't get, they only have to grumble and growl and they are deemed hopeless cases and pts,  but they have lost their homes, abandoned, picked up and put into a kennel or crate, with strange people, contant barking, having to mess where they sleep and eat, they are frightened and bewildered and growl and bark as self protection.

If only there were hundreds of Shak Rescues to help and understand these beautiful creatures and not just write them off at the first growl, snap or grumble.  There are so many dogs killed because no one has the time or patience to work with them.  I pestered you over and over again to help Nike and you have and now I know Scooby will pay you back ten fold for helping him, Stephen you will have a friend for life in Scooby.
wrightk-9

Oh god my throught has a massive lump and my eyes are blured with tires i am so glad this big boy has hi sforever home with people who loves him for what he is becoming a big goofy dude well he sort of is yours then now just at the farm lol im sure you will be having some laughs in the future to come as the bond and trust comes.

he has made me the proudest bloke in the world makes me glad now that i didnt listen about poleing him on the jeep  and listened to my heart and head and did the right thing by this big boy.
joan a

So pleased to hear that Scooby is learing that humans can love him & be kind to him. Keep up the good work  Stephen .
wyliecat88

Once again Scooby learns somthing new today, as this time its Gregg who joins us for the walk. Getting him out of the stable is not an issue, as soon as he sees the lead he sticks his nose under the door and licks your hand.

He happily takes treats of gregg, and I think that there is a little soft spot there already. This dog sure knows how to steal hearts.
hollysmom

After years of abuse and neglect Scooby has finally found happiness, peace and humans that are kind to him, in the end that's all any dog craves. The only way they have of communicating with us is with their mouth, so they growl, bark, snap at us and bite, They can't talk and they can't write down how they have been treated and they can't ask for help. But does that mean that someone can order that dog to be pts.  Scooby is so lucky that he is being shown kindness and he can some day understand that not all humans are going to hurt him.
ladykeli

its so good to follow scooby's progress. its so good he has gone to rescue that can offer him back up for life.
K9 Search UK

Brilliant work Scooby!

Keep us all updated with further progress.

Stephen, the dogwarden who collected Scooby has asked me to pass on his sincere thanks to you and your team.  He too is a big Scooby fan.
wyliecat88

Tell him he's welcome Jennie, Scooby is a star and a big round of applause to the dog warden for giving him the chance to prove himself. I know a lot wouldn't.

We've had a full weekend fundraising, with Kai and all the other dogs at the farm away, so Scooby has had a real chill weekend. I've still been taking him for his walks though, and continued to introduce somthing new everyday.

Today was a double wammy! Scooby met Oliver our Weimaraner Lab cross, and they had a real good old sniff of each other. He made a real effort to go see him, and I honestly think that he is going to love being around the other dogs. Next up BIG Stephen joined us for a walk. Thats three different people three nights running that have enjoyed a riverside stroll with Scooby, and it really is interesting to see at which point in the walk Scooby decides "actually, your ok too!" Tonight, it was about half way through when he sniffed BIG Stephen in a place that shouldn't really be sniffed then off he skipped quite happy.

BIG Stephen did take some pictures of Scooby chilling down by the river. They should be on here soon.
hollysmom

Who skipped off quite happy, Big Stephen or Scooby   Laughing
wrightk-9

he is coming on so well i new with the right people he would blossom in to this little angel and people say lepards cant change there spots well maybe they cant but dogs can.

well done big lad
wyliecat88

Ha ha Definatley Scooby. I think BIG Stephen is still stood stock still on the track! I think the expession "LIfe flashing before his eyes" springs to mind. Laughing
stephen-c

I had my first walk with Stephen and Scooby today, and what a transformation from the stressed out, frantic dog that I saw in the kennel the day after he arrived on the farm.  He was so relaxed and enjoying all of the sights and smells of his new life.  A really nice "hello" to Oliver, walking past Sam in his run with no reaction, and then walking up to me (a complete stranger to him) for a sniff, shows how far he has come already. I really enjoyed walking along by the river just watching him looking so happy.  It shows how much can be done with a little bit of time, patience and confidence.  Well done mate for giving Scooby his chance to show what he is capable of.

some photos from today.

what a big handsome boy!  (Scooby - not Stephen)

(OK, I admit I was just a bit nervous when I saw where he was going to sniff)
wrightk-9

wow he loves a fuss now as i can see he has now bonded with you loads it makes me well up with joyful tears,
keep up the good work buddy.

(oh and as you can tell i love this site too lol)
hollysmom

Are all the men in Northumberland called Stephen, Stephen C  what did you have down there that Scooby could smell   Shocked  if it was doggy treats perhaps you could try putting them somewhere else  Laughing
wyliecat88

It's the purple underpants over the trousers Diane lol  Laughing
hollysmom

Oh I see, say no more, his secrets safe with me  Laughing
hollysmom

Actually Stephen Im getting worried about Scooby and Kai's sanity, it would appear that you are all called Stephen and your running about a farm wearing purple underpants over your trousers  Shocked
wyliecat88

Ha ha. Well don't tell anyone, we'll not be allowed to save anymore! Wink
hollysmom

No don't worry Stephen and Stephen C,  your secret is safe with me (again) anyway all heroes were their underpants over their trousers, even purple ones  Embarassed
stephen-c

Don't all dog rescuers wear purple underpants?  thats what I was told when I joined SHAK!

Also, when everyone's called Stephen its so much easier to remember peoples names
hollysmom

I understand now Stephen C, me thinks Stephen has a wicked sense of humour, he will have Scooby in purple underpants soon   Wink
stephen-c

I'm just pleased that I'm behind the camera so you can't see what else I have to wear!!!
wrightk-9

scooby has already got them on i think he had them on on the way down there that why scooby was moaning all the way lol
joan a

Again wonderful to hear that Scooby is doing so well. Looking forward to seeing the pics.X
wyliecat88

Another 12 hour shift, and then a lovely relaxed walk with Scooby by the river. You know, these walks are really becoming one of the highlights of my day!

Again, Scooby is getting more relaxed everytime, and  I even managed to have a conversation on the phone as he trotted along. An idiot on a motor bike shot past him on the track twice, and he just sat and watched it go by. Highlight of the night though, watching him trying to catch bee's on the flowers..... is that a dog enjoying a walk or what?
wrightk-9

this old boy has dffenatly got his paws under the table now lol what a life he has now ay wonder what would of happened if not for you coming to his rescue ay .
hollysmom

Me thinks Scooby is looking forward to seeing you just as much as you are looking forward to seeing him  Wink
joan a

Who enjoys the walks the most.?.......if only dogs could talk X
hayley

poor scooby !!!! how can any one be so cruel , it beggers believe , thank god he's save now and on his way to be rehomed x
wyliecat88

I know this is getting a bit repetative, but every night this big guy amazes me. I walked my big Shepherd Oskar over after work, and he sat in a kennel when I took my second favourite boy out.

Scooby now greets me by pushing his head under the door and wanting to be stroked!!! Once out, he then sat wagging his tale so that Jackie could give him some treats. We then set off to our usual spot by the river.

Scooby seems to enjoy these walks so much, and when we got to the spot where we sit and watch the sea birds on the river, for the first time he nearly cuddled into me.

One walk, shared between two big GSD boys (not together) perfect!
wrightk-9

excellent this big lad is making me so proud maybe one day he will give you a real gsd kiss slobery lol
and maybe one day you can share the walk with two of your favourate gsd's

then that would be perfect bothe for you and them .
joan a

It`s truly amazing the differance in Scooby`s behaviour. Would be interesting to see how he behaves with Oskar...X
tanja

lol is that a hint to stephen?? x
joan a

Would be a challenge for him !!!!!   lol    X
wyliecat88

Wait till you see the photos from today, Scooby is so relaxed they call him "mattress man" now ha ha.

Time is the crucial thing, time and patience......

And you all know I have loads of both lol
wyliecat88

Ok, Here they are.

There was a couple of first on big Scooby's walk by the river today. Firstly, I took the lead we had on him in Walsall off for the first time last night. I could of done it days ago, but was worried about his reaction when I opened the stable door. I didn't want him to bolt and me have to grab him. Anyway, today I walked up and opened the door, and he was so excited to see the lead he let me put it on no bother.

Secondly when we were on a walk a man coming the other way commented on what a "handsome looking beast" he was. I started telling him Scooby's story, and Scooby just stood there calm as anything. The next step now there seems to be a bit of trust built up between him and me, is to get him used to being around other humans. So I think this and the walks with Neil, Gregg and Big Stephen are as good as starting point as any.

wrightk-9

he looks cool as a cucumber lol a bit fury for a matress lol more like a big been bag ha
K9 Search UK

We are all rooting for you Scooby........
joan a

Wonderful to see the big guy so relaxed & happy.X
hollysmom

Scooby you are looking so fantastic, relaxed and happy. Your so called previous owners did the best thing by abandoning you, lets hope they arn't so happy.
stephen-c

I called in to see Scooby at the farm tonight, and what a difference in him - he sat so quietly in his kennel taking treats from me through the gate - sitting when I asked, giving a paw, and licking my hand.  When Stephen arrived to take him for his walk, he was so pleased to see him, but still stayed really relaxed and calm while he waited to go off down to the river on his regular walk.

It's so good to see the change in him in such a short time! Very Happy
wyliecat88

Oskar and Scooby..... Ok thats a challenge! Watch this space.

I know these daily accounts might be getting a little bit boring, but tonight again was something special.

BIG Stephen, Neil, Scooby and Myself were all having a "Mother's Meeting" for about 15 minutes and Scooby just took his time sniffing everyone and sitting until we'd finished talking. Then on the walk, and this is a big moment for us, I got my first kiss on the face! We were sitting watching the sun set, and he just licked my cheek! And Gregg please don't turn this special moment into smut lol!

After that  a we had a run through all the long grass, which is without doubt his favourite pastime!

I think the whole thing was summed up by BIG Stephen, when he asked "What have you done with the other Scooby?"
hollysmom

Stephen, your daily updates on Scooby are anything but boring, I know everyone that was involved with Scooby one way or another look forward to reading how he is settling in and learning to trust and looks like he's forming quite a bond with you.  He's also smart, he knows that if the guys are your friends then they are his friends as well.  He also might wonder why there are so many Stephens up North   Very Happy
wrightk-9

it is hard to not be intrested it is like an adiction for me i cant help but read about him and you had a proper kis. well see you did have two love bites wen u tried to get him in the jeep lol hehe he is a star you can see cant you how much he is starting to look up to you more and more.

well done big lad keep it up  scoobs
K9 Search UK

Way to go Stephen!!!  Come on Scooby I know you have loads of sloppy big GSD kisses to share Wink
joan a

It`s hard to believe this is the same dog that just about eat you alive a few weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!Just shows you what a little love & kindness can do . Well done  Scooby & of course not forgettingt the time & effort you put in Stephen X .
melia

Ahhh! the first kiss - always a special moment!

I love logging on here every evening to find out how Scooby is doing.

Shaz x
hollysmom

Yes your right Melia, a shared kiss and run in the long grass, watching the sunset, definately sounds like love to me  Very Happy Scooby you have won Stephen over you clever doggie.
wyliecat88

He won me over the Friday night I heard about him, even before he chopmed on my arm and leg lol. Any dog that has had the life big Scooby has, has every right to be frightened and angry at people. Hell, I get angey at them myself! lol

He's a real star waiting to shine. Just show's what can be done if these dogs are given time.

Any way, got to go, got a date with a one eyed German Shepherd x
tanja

Can't wait for tomorrow Scooby cos a little bird told me you are joining us on our afternoon walk! I have to admit though I am still a bit nervous so I am trusting you to be on best behaviour!!! xx
hollysmom

Yes and we all know who that one eyed German Shepherd is don't we, your so right every frightened and abused dog deserves a chance, but they don't all get one, two Rotties lost their lives recently who I tried to help, one was very neglected and half starved the other was apparently unpredictable, I only wish they were given a chance of some happiness like Scooby and not die thinking all humans are sc**.
wrightk-9

the rottie in question was unpredictable, in my belief the reason why dog become this way is through unpredictable people and lack of routine as dog are an animal of habit and structure also not haveing positive stimulation did not help him so shame on his previous owners for not fufiling his individual needs.
tanja

All dogs can be unpredictable at times but they should still be given a chance of rehabilitation. I have seen first hand what just a bit of time and patience can do. Not forgetting the unconditional love these dogs get whilst in the care of SHAK no matter what history they come with!! It is fantastic seeing the progress they make all the time.
wrightk-9

i absolutly agree with you 100% i mean look at scooby he is a prime example.
wyliecat88

I also agree 100 % with both points, the dogs derserve a chance, and that there is no such thing as a bad dog. Just bad owners. Reality is though that in pounds they just don't have the time.

Yes, Scooby is a perfect example, we're just lucky we have some where for him be. He can probably never be rehomed into a normal home environment, but he is so happy. I am  now working on a project to make sure we can offer such retirement homes to other such beautiful animals. Scooby has confirmed to me, and shown the world WHAT CAN BE ACHIEVED.

Anyway, onto tonights walk. We had company tonight, as Gregg and Jasmine joined us. Photo's say it all, and thankfully Gregg missed my head off!

tanja

Thats cool Stephen! pics are fab! Although please can I walk Jasmine tomorrow!  Very Happy Not sure I have the strength for the big lad!x
tanja

I must say though I think your starting to enjoy posing for the camera a bit much!  Wink
wyliecat88

Ha ha its because I'm so proud of the big fella thats with me x
ladykeli

Scooby is a  very lucky dog, he is a prime example of what can be achieved.  good rescue spaces are hard to find especially ones who will take on a dog with problems., and being able to follow his progress is great.
wyliecat88

The key word in that last post is RESCUE. For me and all the wonderful people who have helped me make SHAK what it is today, that is what it is really all about.  Wink
hollysmom

Not biased or anything Stephen but I think Scooby makes for a great mascot for Shak and as you pointed out the pounds don't have the time for the 'unpredicatble' dogs, one growl or one snap at someone and then it's the death sentence, and as I posted previously we need 100 more rescues like Shak, so if your new project is to buy a farm with stables for kennels and fields with long grass and a beach near by for more big dogs, can I put myself forward for a job   Very Happy
wyliecat88

If only it was that easy Diane x

wrightk-9

i am sorry but now that i have started to work closer with the dogs this is not the case with me i and jamie work hard at turning a dog around with full assesments and finding that perfect home.
wyliecat88

Ha Ha I don't mean the dogs, I mean being able to AFFORD a farm  Wink
K9 Search UK

Whilst the kennel staff, wardens and myself have every admiration for Shak, what they have achieved with Scooby & Kai is just brilliant, its clear they are shining in your care.

However, Im very concerned with the comments in relation to dogs being pts, neither Scooby or Kai were under threat of destruction.....it was the pound that requested our help in finding these two dog rescue spaces.  They saw past the behavioural issues they had presented and they recognized that these dogs had something in them

Yes there are times when dogs are pts, but very few I may add.  Since the start of 2009, 8 dogs have been pts, 3 of those were OAPs and suffered with ill health, 1 was with owners consent after he had attacked her own dog and young children.  The other 4 were pts for unpredictable aggressive behaviour.  When pts is considered, there is consult with wardens, ourselves but final decision is with the vet.  We all take pts very seriously and its certainly not done a whim.  The finger of blame is always pointed at the pounds when dogs are pts, with the amount of strays being received at the pounds they sometimes have no other option.  Its about time the blame was laid at the door of those directly responsible........THE OWNERS!

What is needed is more specialised rescues like Shak, general rescues are no good for dogs with aggression/behavioural issues. They just dont have the expertise or the time.

Sorry for side tracking this thread.
Smile
hollysmom

Lets say we agree to differ, but less of the politics, lets put our money where our mouth is and sponsor a fantastic bike ride around the world without (stabilisers) and help this fantastic rescue who help dogs who have previously been written off.
wyliecat88

Believe me, I am no stranger to politics in rescue, and at the end of the day its dogs that suffer. SHAK was formed for a reason, to help the dogs no one else would, and its aim remains that. We all have to pull together, at the end of the day thats the only way we can all help.

Anyway onto Scooby, another great day, He went out with Jasmine and Tanja today. Think Tanja was a bit apprehensive, but he was a total gentleman. She has promised to put her view of the day on here later.
wrightk-9

i just new he wa a ladies man lol putting on his charms. Laughing
K9 Search UK

Any more pics Stephen?
tanja

What can I say Stephen... apprehensive is an understatement! Na scooby was a total gentleman (someone has to sort the men from the boys round here  Wink ) I did find it easier to pretend it was a different dog though as I did not want the big fella knowing I was nervous. Although he is very sneaky at getting his little sniffs in. First it was my treat pocket which Stephen thought I never realised then I had him and Jasmine sniffing exactly the same spot by my feet! which I have to say I was worried about losing a few toes if anything kicked off! All in all it was a fantastic walk and I would not hesitate to go back out with him again. As long as I aint holding the lead of course! He def seems to be very calm around Jasmine though. Funny how he got spooked by something that we couldn't even see! But even that never changed his attitude. I honestly believe this guy is just happy to be settling and starting to trust people again. xx
wrightk-9

wooohoooooo more scooby fans i think he has an infectious desiese cos svery one is getting the scooby bug lol
wyliecat88

A nice lazy Sunday evening walk sees Scooby enjoy the weather too. He is getting brighter in himself everyday, and tonight he even played before I put the lead on. It’s so nice to seem him happy. Makes all the hard work so worthwhile  Very Happy
wrightk-9

i new this lad was a puppy at heart now he has chance to show it to everyone.
wyliecat88

Another nice quiet walk last night, but when I bent to put the lead on, Scooby surprised me. He smacked a nice big GSD kiss on my face! We then went for a stroll, and when he came back he got some attention off Jackie. You honestly wouldn't believe that this was the same dog. We even had a couple of cuddles whilst we were out.
melia

A kiss and a cuddle from Scooby! What a lovely reward for the love & kindness you have shown him.....what more could you ask for!!

xx
wyliecat88
