Scooby 2

The old post was getting a little bit long, so as you'll read in a second, tonight seemed a perfect time to start a new post.....

Well, where do I begin. Scooby as usual got himself all excited as soon as he saw me tonight. When I grabbed the lead, he went crackers, and when I went to put it on him I didn't get one kiss..... I got two. The second one was almost a reassurance that the first one had happened! We then set off a nice peaceful walk as the sun began to set, but soon there was a bike went past, then a motorbike, then a group of teenagers. Each time though Scooby calmly sat down and allowed them to pass. We then sat by the river, and watched the sea birds as I plucked some more of the matted fur from his coat. Can you believe I even found his tickly spot, and the look on his face was amazing. It was like he had never been tickled before, and his body was reacting but he didn't know how to react.

When we got back to the farm, the night really began to take an amazing twist. Firstly he met my Oskar, and they  had a good sniff of each other with waggy tails, then after saying a nice hello to Jackie in the yard, he was invited into the farmhouse for the very first time.

It's all a bit of a blur how natural it felt, but basically me, Jackie and Neil just sat as he sniffed about, and sat and gave a paw for a treat. Then feeling brave,  Neil took the lead. Now you have to remember that I am the only person to physically hold Scooby since the day I got him from Walsall. He has sniffed other people, but nobody has taken the lead. Well, what followed next was astonishing. After a guided tour with Neil, Scooby decided to lie down, roll on his back and let me TICKLE HIS BELLY!! He was still very nervous, about me doing it, but I will never forget the look on his face. I have never, ever seen a dog look as thrilled and as content in my entire life.

Neil then walked him back to his stable, and we both just looked at each other and said "Wow."
tanja

That is absolutely fantastic! I am so chuffed at how well this big guy is doing! and bravo Neil... sounds like scooby is touching your soft spot 2! Keep it up guys! see you soon xx
hollysmom

Absolutely fantastic for all concerned especially Scooby, brilliant work everyone at Shak.
joan a

wrightk-9

yey see i new he could do it with your help a big pup at heart, see now he gets on with your dog you can take him home for the weekend lol im sure you other half (oskar) would love it lol haha.
shaz

Any words seem too insignificant to describe just what you and Scooby have achieved Steve.  I told you this guy was important for SHAK.
Scooby you are amazing to trust people after what someone has done to you....you're going to have a wonderful life at the Farm.  It'll get better and better for you as you continue to progress xxxxx
Looking forward to having you sniff me next!!
wyliecat88

Miko's arrival from Scooby's old pound meant a little change of routine for Scooby tonight. I got him out, with a kiss as usual, (much to the amazement of Sharon)and then I had to hand him to Gregg for his walk. I jumped in the car to go get Miko, and you should of seen the look on his face. He watched me as he walked all the way down the drive, and the nearest I can think of to describe the atmosphere, is like a parent watching a child go to school for the first day. That feeling when the teacher takes hold of their hand and your leads them away. I was filled with concern, but also pride. My big lad has come on so much that now other people can take him out! wow.

I'm also proud to say that as usual he was a perfect Gentleman on his walk, and went back into his stable with no problems.

Well done Scooby, I always knew you could do it.
wrightk-9

you are amazing in every way scooby oh and you steven
scooby you make me so proud,
tanja

Well where do I start...
I got to the farm today hoping I would have a nice easy walk with Jasmine... not the case as she was on a mission to pull me on my butt in the lovely slippy mud. So Stephen asked if I wanted to take Scooby instead as he is so well trained these days!!! I didn't know whether to laugh at him or cry at the thought he was serious! Anyways I had to bite the bullet cos Jas really was being a little minx, So Stephen handed me the lead...
Scooby was fantastic!!! He had his little sniffs at me and everything else he possibly could and then just "trotted" (yes I mean trot like a right little poser) along quite happily! He was even a little star when we had a couple of dogs off lead running up to us and barking!
Stephen has done an amazing job with this big fella and it shows as Scooby is always checking his friend is still close by.
What can I say??  I am lost for words (and trust me that does not happen very often)!!!
xxx
wyliecat88

Ha Ha, believe me it doesn't!

Thank you Tanja, but its not really me thats done all the hard work. Scooby is the one who has had to figure everything out.

One more thing I would add, is that aswell as Tanja and Jasmine, Scooby was out with Sam, Harlie, Oliver and Kai, and yes that means 5 other people as well as me!
tanja

you cheeky sod! you're not supposed to agree!
Scooby is an absolute star, that goes without saying after what he has been through. As for it not really being you, well...
How many other people do you know that would spend night after night gaining a dogs trust the way you have. You have a friend in Scooby for life!
And yes sorry I forgot to mention all the others that were out today!! Sorry peeps! I am still trying to get my head round the fact I walked this guy and only a short while ago I was terrified to go near him!
shaz

More praise for Scooby's progress....when I arrived at the farm on Saturday I met him and Steve and Scooby sniffed me and even let me tickle the top of his head....brilliant!!!!!!!!!!
You can see the joy in his eyes now xxxx

Fantastic.......brill work Shak! Smile
wyliecat88

After another 12 hours of sheer sh*t at work, what do I have to look forward to.....

Walking Scooby! What happens, BIG Stephen pinches him. Ha Ha.

Seriously another massive night in Scooby's rehab. I get him out of the kennel, and then pass him straight to BIG S to walk, whilst I get our other Retired dog Harlie out for a walk. What follows is almost surreal, as me and Harlie run ahead, and Scooby drags BIG S along to catch up. Highlight is when we reach the long grass at the estuary, and Scooby and Harlie go nuts in it, jumping around. Can you believe that Scooby actually wants Harlie to play???

We stop by the little beach we always stop at, and BIG Stephen confesses how much Scooby has made HIS night by letting him walk him! I think that says it all. Gregg, Tanja and BIG S have now all fallen in love with my boy, and more importantly walked him. I am proud of each and everyone of us, but as I said in a previous post, Scooby is the real star.
stephen-c

A first for me tonight - a walk with Scooby.

I have seen how much he has changed in his kennel and on his walks with Stephen, but to walk him myself was brilliant.  He was so relaxed and obviously enjoying every second of his walk.  Running along the path by the river with him, he was just bouncing along in the grass, then asking Harlie to play!!  Nothing bothered him at all tonight, he was just out having fun.

My next challenge will be on on Wednesday, when I'm the one to get him out of his kennel to walk him - after that you'll have to find someone else to walk Stephen!

He must have missed out on so much in his life - but he's making up for it now
wrightk-9

this bg fella should defenatly be a mascot for shak up there with shak him self representing all those dogs being help buy you guys as scooby is one of the hardest cases you have had it must say somthing.
stephen-c

He really is an example of how much can be done with time, patience and confidence and is showing us all why he deserves this chance.

I'm already looking forward to my next walk with him
wyliecat88

Another truly amazing night for Scooby. For everyone who has met him, I think the fact he was in desperate need to be groomed was clear for all to see. He has clumps of mess stuck so deep in his fur, and he is quite badly matted around teh backend.

Well, everything with him is little steps, but tonight I brushed him for the first time. Its something I have been building up to, and I was really surprised to see that he loved it. I brushed him all over, and he wasn't phased in the slightest. We even had a proper cheek to cheek cuddle as we watched the seagulls. On returning to the farm, he was excited to see Neil and Terry, and gave them both a little hug too. I watch him at times and just really can't believe it.
K9 Search UK

Truly amazing, gob smacked is the words we use down here lol
wrightk-9

i for once is absolutly speachless i new it would happen but didn think it would take a short space of time to achieve it.
wyliecat88

BIG Stephen stole my dog for the walk this afternoon, and he has promised me a post on here tonight to tell you all about it. He did though take some photos of me and my best mate. I know the number of pictures are a bit excessive, but anyone who saw me and Scooby that hot summer Sunday in a car park in Birmingham will surely understand x

oscar153

After seeing you that day i cant believe it is the same dog, he looks so happy, it has brought tears to my eyes, well done everone at Shak and well done Scooby.
wyliecat88

On top of  those, here is proof Scooby now goes out with other people. Or is it proof of someone pinching my dog Ha Ha. Think th eexpression on BIG Stephen's face show's how proud he is.

stephen-c

Another walk with Scooby for me today, and the first time I have been the one to get him out of his kennel.
He is so much more relaxed when anyone approaches his kennel now and is obviously excited when he sees his lead.  So it was nice and easy, just take his lead, open the door and go in, let him come to say a nice hello, on with the lead and off on our walk.  Whenever we stopped along the path, I was able to give him a gentle brush and he didn't mind that at all, he was quite happy just going along behind Harlie, and even when someone passed by there was no reaction at all.

It really is a pleasure to walk him, partly because he is so well behaved on his lead, but mainly because it lets you appreciate how far he has come.  So for the next couple of days, I'll be visiting him at the farm and taking him on his walks - I can't wait (maybe I'll get some kisses and cuddles from him as well!)
melia

I love the new pics of Scooby! All those hours you spent at the kennels in Birmingham seem a million miles away now.  All that time & effort was certainly worth it!!!

xx
wrightk-9

oh my god you have a friens for ever my eyes are blured with tears and my heart is full of pride of this big lad that has a special place in my heart for ever more hopefuly we may meet a gain scooby ,

p.s. i promise not to try and put a muzzle on this time buddy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx for scooby well done my friend.
hollysmom

Im speechless (nearly)  Very Happy  Well it looks like Scooby is sorted, he looks so happy and relaxed and I agree that Sunday seems so long ago now.  Glad he's letting you groom him, you will be thowing him in a bubble bath next  Laughing
ladykeli

omg what can i say  Very Happy .   He is looking great.
joan a

Wow....... great pics guess you boys will be fighting who walks him next !!!!!!!!!!!
tanja

I would win the fight over who walks him on sat if I did not have to work!   Sad   Just wait till next weekend!
stephen-c

OK here's the latest update for the Scooby fan club:

It was my turn to walk Scooby again today so after a quick hello and a couple of treats through the kennel door so he could see who it was, it was straight out for his walk - I think he was looking for his 'favourite' Stephen, but seemed happy enough that it was me again.  He took me along his normal route showing me where he normally stops for his sightseeing over the river.  Whenever we stopped along the way, we had another minute or 2 with the brush, which is gradually improving his coat.  I had brought a special treat for Scooby today - some pieces of sausage which he took from me so gently.  He doesn't show any signs of nervousness at all when he's out - a cyclist passed us on the path so we just moved over to the side to let him pass with no reaction from Scooby.  On the way back up to the farm, Scooby decided it was time for a run (he must have heard about me doing the Great North Run for him and his friends this year so wanted to give me some extra training!).  Then it was back to his kennel for another treat or 2 and a big drink.

It's difficult to explain, but you get such a good feeling when you walk him - maybe it's imagining what he thinks about how everything has changed for him - or is that just me being silly because dogs don't think like that.  Whatever it is, I enjoyed today -

see you same time again tomorrow Scooby - can't wait!
hollysmom

Stephen C how do we know dogs don't think like that, I am sure Scooby knows the change of how he's being treated and is now enjoying being alive, instead of the ill treatment he suffered.
joan a

It`s about time he had a woman to walk with Tanja ,these boys have too much of their own way.

It`s amasing, hard to believe it`s the same dog......
stephen-c

...that was meant to be a joke about dogs "living in the moment" as everyone's favourite expert tells us. The change in Scooby has been so remarkable over such a short time - he must know that his life has changed so much and just looks so happy now.
hollysmom

Yes I know it was a joke, the same as everyones favourite little Mexican with the blinding white teeth, I could give you a list of dogs with an excellent memory, my rescued JRT who I have had 12 months but for 'some reason' is petrified of newspapers and my friends rescued Dobie who has bite scars up his hind legs and is fine with other dogs but absolutley hates my Rotties, so much so my friend has to keep him on the lead when I walk with her and my Rottie, another friend who has a rescued Norfolk terrier who hates bald men, but is ok when her partner wears a hat, I could go on, I believe dogs do remember and do not live in the day, I have had Heidi (my Rottie) coming up to three months and she still cowers and flinches as if she's expecting a battering, Im hoping she will. as time goes by realise I am not going to hit her, but I suspect she won't forget her past but she will learn to trust me. And the same goes for Scooby, he is starting to realise that life aint that bad after all and he can start to relax and enjoy himself and behave like a dog should, but I bet you if you tied him up and approached him with a screwdriver, all those bad memories would come flooding back.  Good luck to you Scooby and thanks to everyone at Shak. x
wyliecat88

Just a little update on the big guy. He is doing so well, been handled by a few more of the SHAK team, and after yet another nice calm walk and brush he had another first.

Because he people are beginning to feel more confident handling him, I'm trying to get him out and about more. Tonight he had a spell in one of the runs, where he had a little chat with Sam through the fence. We just have to get him used to other people handling him other than myself, then he can go out in the run during the day. Wink
joan a

Was nice to meet  Scooby on Saturday  after hearing & reading so much about  him .
He is  turning into a gentle giant  & so well behaved .Of course all credit to the  TLC  he has received from the 2 Stephens .Well Done  X
wyliecat88

Tonight is possibly one of the best since SHAK began. For those of you that have been following Scooby's story, you will remember the two bites and 4 1/2 hours it took me to get in the jeep the day that this big guy came into my life. Well, today after work I decided it was time he encountered a car again. I wasn't going to stress him, so I just opened he passenger door to see his reaction..... and he just jumped straight in.

Not wanting to miss an opportunity, I quickly jumped into the drivers seat and whisked him off to the seaside. He was a little worried in the car, but his eyes lit up as soon as we arrived. Coming from the midlands, Scooby obviously hasn't seen the seaside before. He couldn't stop sniffing, and I'll never forget the look of shock on his face as the seaweed he was sniffing got covered by an incoming wave.

I even gave him a little run off lead as no one was around, and he showed his mischevious side as he realised he was free and gave me that "I'm away" look and trotted..... back to the car.

On the way back he was so much more relaxed in the car, and sat upright with his head out of the window.

I honestly don't think it was till I got home that I realised what an amazing thing had just happened.....
wrightk-9

see i know he had a mischevious side lol i cant believe it u have complete trust and love togethre see now all you have to do is take him on holiday with you now lol im sure he would love it lol .

FANTASTIC JOB BUDDY
hollysmom

From being neglected, abused and abandoned, taken to a pound and now running free on a beach with someone who obviously cares for you, what more can a doggie want, really happy for you Scooby.
joan a

Thats truly amasing Stephen & as you didn`t have the jeep even more so in the passenger seat of the car....Lovely to hear that Scooby enjoyed his trip to the seaside. X
tanja

Well done Scooby your a real star!xx
wyliecat88

Continuing on from his walks this week, Scooby has a little run around the “Hill Field” off lead. He is so cheeky, he just looks at you and runs away. Even when you through a stick, he goes and gets it and then runs the opposite way. It’s early days though, recall is definitely next on the list.
wyliecat88

After taking all the other dogs into the field for a run off lead, I thought it was only fair that we continued Scooby's training. It has to be said, his recall was better, and he even came back to me when called as he was trying to clamber through a fence. As with everything with him, it is slow steps, but once again today was an improvement.

Again for the Birmingham lot, how good does he look stress free and off lead?

hollysmom

Well from one of the Birmingham lot, what have you done with Scooby ?  have you replaced him with a lookalike  Very Happy
wyliecat88

Ha ha thats impossible Dianne. Taming his is not, but finding such a handsome boy to replace him with is! lol  Wink
ladykeli

i cant  stop myself coming back and looking at him.  Very Happy

he's one lucky black country stray.
stephen-c

I've walked Scooby 3 times this week, and each time, he has just been so calm and relaxed.  Yesterday was the 1st time I think I can say that he was really pleased to see me, as he jumped up to say hello.  Todays walk was with Oliver, and as usual no problems at all - even when a couple off noisy jack russells came charging across the road towards us, he just had a quick look a them and kept on going - a lot of dogs would have turned around and told them off, but not Scooby, its a real pleasure to take him out.
wrightk-9

this big guy is making me prouder and prouder, he is such a gentle man. keep on blooming big lad
wyliecat88

Hadn't walked Scooby personally since Thursday or Friday, but I gave him a ball on Saturday before I left the farm. When I got there last night, and he saw me, he ran and got the ball and came straight to the front of the kennel with his tail wagging.

Scooby you make my day everytime.
melia

I love the new pics of Scooby, yes you're right he does look so relaxed and happy in them.  Thats the one of the reasons I love dogs, they are so ready to trust once they are shown love and kindness.  You have another loyal friend now!

Shaz x
shaz

Well I had the privilege of popping in with Scooby and getting him out for his walk this afternoon.   It was great he's a fine old gentleman and I quite forgive him for trying to eat my foot when we first met.  LUSH BOY!!!  xxxxxxxxxxxx
wyliecat88

You know, Scooby has come in so much, yet still he surprises me every single day. We all know the "car story" from when I went to Walsall to pick him up, and I told you the other night about his new ball.....

Well, he met me with his ball in his mouth this afternoon, I got my kisses as normal, and then we went for a walk with Oliver and BIG Stephen. When we got back, I thought it would be a good idea to take his picture with his ball to put on here. So imagine my surprise when I opened the car door to get my camera, and he jumped straight in the drivers seat and refused to move!

See for yourself, he obviousley prefers a sports car to a jeep!

oscar153

I can't believe he is the same dog, as the one in Walsall a while back, he looks so happy and playful, and i can't believe he got in the car.
He looks so happy and years younger. Laughing
hollysmom

He must of remembered YOU gave him the ball and he wanted you to know he had looked after it and of course he prefered the sports car to the Jeep, do you think he stupid or something  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing
wyliecat88

Ha Ha he is far from stupid lol. He is quickly becoming our "stooge" dog ie the calm one we try and walk the more "manic" ones with. John said a while ago he should become a mascot for Shak. Too be honest the way he has responded he derserves more than anyone can give him. Scooby boy I am so proud of you.
hollysmom

Don't like saying I told you so, but somewhere in my last posts I did say Scooby should be Shak's Mascot    Idea  I gave Heidi a tennis ball last night and it lasted all of 30 seconds, Scooby saved the ball you gave him  Smile
wrightk-9

this big lad will never ever stop suprising me to me he is the joint mascot with the beloved shak, he looks happy and relaxed oh and i told you that you could teach an old dog new tricks i mean he can drive a car befor me lol .
wyliecat88

Ah I get it now. Well, Scooby I'm honoured.
wrightk-9

oh just thought wonder if he could ride a bike better than mee lol ???????????
hollysmom

Glad you see what Im getting at  Very Happy
wyliecat88

Ha ha John, when I have him lifting me in to the car in a crate, you know we have really cracked it  Wink
hollysmom

It's no good, I have decided, we are going to hire a mini bus and the Scooby fan club are coming up to visit  Laughing
wrightk-9

haha lol well wait till you see my baby whos coming tomoro by the way he is VERY food motivated so what ya fingers lol. steven you will love this big goof once he gets to know you.
he has a face only i could love lol or a mother could love lol.
wyliecat88

Spent a lot of time with the new dogs today, but still couldn't resist taking Scooby for a game of fetch.

wrightk-9

OMG look at the state of that ball i take it he doesnt like it much then lol
tanja

Hey big guy, thanks for a lovely walk today. you were a proper gent for me! even if you did keep looking for you foster daddy who scived all day!xx
wyliecat88

Ha ha is that aimed at me Tanja? The one who risked arm and limbs with the newboys off lead in the run. If you don't believe me check out Duke's new pictures.  Wink
tanja

lol yeah as u said Stephen tired them out and you got the cuddles and the credit!!! bless Scooby though he was a little star!
wyliecat88

Ha Ha Scooby is always a star  Wink
wrightk-9

i must admit steven it did look like you might of been savaged haha by slober lol
wyliecat88

Please check out Scooby's T-Shirt in the SHAK SHOP section

wyliecat88

Scooby had his first official job as SHAK's stooge dog today. He did superbly well in helping a Labrador/Rottweiler cross start the long road back from wanting to attack other dogs.

Gregg has been working with this dog for quite a while, and today he needed a nice calm, unphased dog to get within 10 yards off this big boy.

We picked the calmest of all our dogs, and yes Scooby has started to work for his keep ha ha.

I was so proud of him, he spent an hour in the office afterwards just mooching around. What a great lazy Sunday morning for us both.   Razz
wrightk-9

les this big lad he has come a long long long way and i am very very proud of him .
Trustee No2

It was more like 5 yards at one point and Scooby was excellent, a really good stooge dog.  He even got a bit chicken dinner for his time.

Well done Scooby  Very Happy  All to do again very soon tho!!!!
wyliecat88

Another offensive day at work, horrendous muggy and rainy weather, 12 hour shift..... but still got Scooby to walk! What a perfect way to unwind.

Tried something else a bit different today, as we returned to the farm, I let him off the lead. He just looked at me and then ran ahead, straight passed the other dogs, and straight to my car!

Once I told him he wasn't going anywhere he then set off on his own patrol of the entire farm yard, sniffing everywhere. He just had this look, real glee in his eyes.

We then had half an hour in the office, and whilst I pottered on he tucked into a selection of treats. Can you believe that he even sat right next to me and ate, and not once gave off a growl or a second glance. Remember this is a dog that 6 weeks ago bit me for stepping over his water bowl!

We have some really tough times in rescue,  days when you think "why do I put myself through all this" everytime I look at Scooby I know why.
wrightk-9

wow mate this big guy makes me proud good and has it reali been 6 weeks cant believe it the transformation.
shaz

I told you Steve that this boy was important for us....never guessing how much he'd mean to you or that he'd become the SHAK mascot.  His story certainly shows why you started SHAK and serves to remind us all what can be achieved if we don't give up.  He might be SHAK mascot but you're a real hero!
wrightk-9

hear hear i agree if it wasnt for him scooby and duke and kai wouldn of come so far in there rehab welldone mate and again thanks.
wyliecat88

shuks. Thanks people  Embarassed
Trustee No2

Crying or Very sad even my bottom lip is quivering at that.......no really.

Seriously though the success of Scooby is surely what SHAK is about, without Stephens and the volunteers (inc John) help, hard work, patience and effort to give Scoobs his retirment home then who knows what was in store for that dog.

The bites he gave Steve would have got him the needle anywhere else.
wyliecat88

Good grief...... Gregg is that really you?  Laughing
wrightk-9

dito this is heven for dogs (and me wen i move in with scooby lol)
Trustee No2

It was but back to heartless now mate dont worry Wink
wyliecat88

Listen, thank  you everyone for saying all that stuff  Embarassed  but honestly, I just do what seems the right thing (or Wright thing eh John) to do. In all of this, there is ultimatley only one hero. Scooby. He didn't want to respond, then nothing I could of done would of worked.

You know tonight after work, I though walk Oskar over, walk Scooby, ten minutes brushing him in the office, then good night. Yet that old bugger still did 4 things that left me absoloutley gob smacked.

After the situation with Miko, we never want to be under pressure with a snotting dog again, so as Scooby was running around the yard, I went to look at the old chicken house that is our new isolation kennel, he was doing his own thing and disappeared out of sight. Then, through a window I catch a glimpse, he is only in the SHAK office. Furthermore, when i call him he comes bounding out and gives me such a greeting. He had obviousley lost me and thought "I know, he'll be in the office".

Next up whilst we are in there, for the first time ever he jumps up and puts his paws on my chest. He kind of had that look as if to say" I really want to, but not sure if I should" and I really don't know who was the most emotional, me or him.

He got a treat for that, and I know I shouldn't encourage jumping up, but this really is the exception,  and whilst he was chewing the dentastick I was even able to bruch his neck without him growling or even noticing I was there. I even managed to lift his tail and brush  under that whilst he was EATING. Remember this dog has serious food aggresion.

Jackie who lives on the farm joined me with a bottle of beer and Scooby curled up at my feet. He really was at home, and when I tried to walk him back to his kennel, he headed straight to the farm house back door.

Now come on Gregg, bet that lip is quivering again.

NOT THE BEST PICTURES, BUT WHAT A NIGHT.

wrightk-9

yep you do do the wright thing by them bud so you are relaxing with the dogs you love with a beer so tell mee wen can i move innnnnnnnnnnn
ladykeli

wow.. i'm not a expert and john will tell you, its been a couple of years since i did any serious  dog walking., but i saw something in scooby's eye, he wanted to trust, it just needed someone to show him how.
wyliecat88

It's his eyes you fall in love with.

Quote of last night by Jackie: "Even his damaged eye has a sparkle" x
wrightk-9

its that look and that coli flower ear lol makes him look so vicious lol haha yea rite lol
stephen-c

My turn to walk Scooby again today, and even though it was a cold wet windy day, we still enjoyed our trip out along by the river.  He has so much fun just bounding along in the long grass.  We got back to the farm, both tired out and completely soaked, but it was worth it to see him enjoying himself.
wrightk-9

aaawww bless him a big drounded rat lol joking scooby your stunning not like a rat at all.
wyliecat88

Busy weekend at work for the SHAK Stooge dog. Scooby goes out with Otto on Saturday, and helps with a little bit of training with Becky on Sunday.

Otto is gorgeous, but so highly strung, and very very submissive with people. Scooby is a great calming influence, so it worked really well.

Becky isn't too good when other dogs walk towards her. Once again, Scooby was superb. As he approached, he wasn't even looking at her. Nothing seems to phase him.

Also have to say, the welcome I got of him after BIG Stephen got him out and he noticed I was there was priceless. Kisses, cuddles and even jumping up. Scooby you are my hero.
wrightk-9

and to think he was a killer guad dog lol ye rite lol but honestly to say he never had any socializing he is a superb dog in the rite hands what a role model for the other dogs at shak.

well done matey
joan a

Went for a walk with Stephen & Otto last night.I had the pleasure of walking Scooby ,what a gentle giant he is .I don`t normally walk the dogs
due to health problems, but he was a pleasure to take out. XX
wyliecat88

Busy day at work for Scooby, as he first ontinues to show Otto how to be calm on a walk. Next up he goes out with his Brummy pal Duke. It is amazing watching him work. Duke is all over the place, bounding and pulling, and if I'm honest I don't think Scooby even noticed he was there. What an example to set.

His work wasn't finished there though, he had his usual time in the office as a reward, yet spent most of it helping Deborah clean the kitchen.
Laughing
wrightk-9

what a true gentleman see who says men never help lol

Somthing new for Scooby, as he went to watch my old football team Bebside FC train. It meant a trip through a busy town, and then a field with about 30 people on it.

He was perfect with the traffic, and loved trying to get the football. It was interesting to see how he reacted with the crowds, as he was fine unless someone approached. He would bark, but settled as soon as he realised that they weren't a threat.

A really good exercise for him, as we need to step up his reintroduction into the world outside the farm.
