Little AddyWhilst I was there to collect Polly, I also brought North little Addy, who can best be described as a miniature German Shepherd cross Collie!
Addy is a real sweetie, but it was thought she was in season when arriving at the pound. Seven weeks later she is still bleeding, and although a vet check up reveals her temperature etc is fine, there is still something wrong. Me being such a softie, she jumped on the back seat and came to SHAK.
She has an appointment to see the vet with me on Saturday, so I will let you know how she gets on. We are looking for a foster home for her at the minute.

Addy had her trip to the vets this morning, and was a little sweetheart on the backseat of my jeep.
She was a true lady even when the vet had a thermometer in places he shouldn't, and we think that her problems may just be hormonal. I'm taking her in to get speyed on Thursday morning.
After missing out on Wednesday, she had her first vaccination too.

with her being a more mature girl it does happen in some older females but it is rare but at least she has the love and care of shak.

Think I need to post this in both dogs diaries:
Next up was the wonderful Addy and Otto 2. Otto is very hand shy, and I think that he too has had a beating at some point. He loved little Addy though. Once again it is around his back that he doesn’t like being touched, but he just sniffs and licks your hand. Otto is desperate to play, and it was great watching him and Addy in the office playing together.
Addy is Addy, an absolute Gem. Nothing seems to knock her out of her stride. How the hell she ended up in rescue I’ll never know.

dito i think the same why would any one lose her or even dump her she is a sweet heart the next stooge i think i think that if addy and otto spend time together i know that she will bring him out of his shel massively.

Little Addy was at the vets today to be speyed, and I'm pleased to say there was nothing untoward in there that could of been causing the bleeding. The vet confirmed that she has had puppies in the past though.

Addy really did give me a scare on Sunday, as she somehow managed to get her stitches out. The horror part though (and I’m trying not to be to graphic here) but the things the stitches were supposed to keep in, had slipped out. Gregg rushed Addy and I to the vets, where she had emergency surgery, and the vet confirms that although all the vital organs are present, there is part of the omentum (a layer of fat which is connected to the stomach) missing. The vet thinks she may of ate it.
I’m pleased to announce though that Addy has recovered ok, and Sharon was able to pick her up from the vets today, I’m taking her back on Wednesday for a check up, so will keep you posted.
It was a shock to all of us, but goodness knows how Addy felt. She spent the night at my house last night anyway.

Fright! I still feel physically sick when I picture it.
Looks like she's settling ok at my house, so hopefully she's on the mend.

i took my dog crystal up the kennels late today to help chucky to see how he would react to a bossy female and there was a lil snap from my dog and he was straight in his place and that was it he responded great so i will be doing it regular to build his social skills in stead of going in for the kill lol
i think addy has a forever home lol she will get her paws under the table and that it lol.

Just a quick update on little Addy. I took her to the vets on Wednesday, and everything seems to be healing up well. She has to go back next week to get her stitches out (by the vet this time) so we are now back looking for a new home for her. She is lively in herself, and living with me, my family and Oskar, Sky and Bailey the cat has given me an insight into the real Addy. We’ve had no accidents in the house, and its clear that she loves being around other dogs and people.

After a whirl wind week, I'm pleased to say Addy went out on home trial to a potential Forever Home today. Her new family fell in lover with her at the Meet and Greet at Pets At Home yesterday, I did a home check last night, and they picked her up today.
I've had a gorgeous week with little Addy. I cannot praise her enough. She has made a big impact in this house, on all of us, human K9 and feline. Proud of you Little one.

Just an update on Addy, she is doing superbly well in her new home. Everyone loves her, and it looks as if everything has healed up ok. She had her stitches out yesterday.

Little Addy has settled into her new home wonderfully, and is loved very much. I’m so pleased after the scare we had with first her health and secondly when her stitches came out.

Little Addy is now adopted, and I must say looking absoloutely fantastic. I got quite a welcome when I went to visit her today. It was really superb seeing her so settled and happy. She has a glow in her eyes she didn’t have when I first picked her up, and her coat is now so shiny. She has put on some weight, and I have to say she looks perfect.
