Thanks to Karen and Shaz for bringing pretty little Mona the staffie upto us today. She isn't our usual kind of dog, but she was desperate.
She's a little frightened, but by all reports was a little angel on the way up.
Pictures to follow.

Mona was a little star on the 4 hour journey up north today. In fact, I think she slept for most of the time she was in the back of the car. As soon as she got out of the car she was eager to give Stephen a friendly greeting so Im sure you will both be the best of friends in no time!

Mona's first day went fine. She walked on both a slip and a normal lead, and apart from a couple of tugs, it was an enjoyable experience. She did let herself down slightly by having a little go at King the biggest Rottweiler in the world through the fence, but she responded when I told her that wasn't how SHAK dogs behaved!
I see so much fear in this little girl, and a right little character waiting to come out.

Glad to hear that her first day has gone well. I have walked her alongside a couple of other dogs a few weeks ago and she ignored them both after an initial protest. She came within a few feet of them and didnt try to attack them so Im sure she will learn to accept other dogs when she has relaxed a little.

Today Mona seemed a little bit brighter and settled in herself. She even looked pleased to see me. I was proud of her last night, she let the vet give her her first vaccination!

Glad to hear that she is settling in ok. Moving from the pound to rescue kennels must be quite traumatic for some of these dogs. We know that it is in their best interests but obviously they dont understand what is happening to them. Mona never settled in the pound but The Rescue Place has a far more peaceful atmosphere so Im sure she will be more chilled out with you. Well done Mona for being good at the vets!

Here's a few pictures. Mona actually ran towards me today when she saw me coming to take these, and although still has issues about other dogs, she is more confident with people.
