Polly the beautiful Border Collie cross came to us on Wednesday after a mad dash to our "feeder" shelter (ha ha) in Birmingham.

Polly has obviousley been badly beaten at some point, as she is very shy, and has resorted to using her teeth to protect herself. She is friendly and will come for attention and to go for walks etc, but at the moment we have to do everything on her terms.

She is a special case, that I'm sure can be turned around with time and trust. It's like having a little Scooby.

Photographs to follow soon.

Glad Polly is now safe,  I enjoyed walking her at the pound but she found it a very scary place.  I'm sure she'll soon settle down and relax now she is receiving the 'shak' treatment!  Good luck with her!

Polly is beautiful, when I was there she was so scared and just kept poking her head thru the hatch staring at me and wouldn't come to the front of the kennel even though I had tasty treats, good luck Polly.

this syunning girl is a pleasure as long as she gets to choose what she can trust and what cant, in my experience it just takes time with these cases and patience.

Sneaked back over tonight when I was waiting for the latest two to arrive from Birmingham, and spent some time with Polly off leatentiod in the big run.

She is a wonderful girl, who is very responsive to calls, so she has obviously had some training in past. I was allowed to stroke her all along her back, and she does seem to enjoy attention when she wants it.

Sad to say though, getting her out this afternoon showed how much damage and abuse Polly has had to face, She sat perfectly to get her lead on, but when she stood up I noticed she had wet herself.
